Ladder Inspection Services

Annual ladder inspections to insure maximum safety.

Fire Department ladders, at stated in NFPA 1932 Chapter 7, must be tested AT LEAST once per year, but often require more testing due to extensive use, damage to equipment, or even suspected damage.

When should you test?

1. Before the ladder is placed in service for the first time.

2. At least once per year.

3. At any time the ladder is suspected of being unsafe

4. After the ladder has been subjected to overloading.

5. After the ladder has been subjected to impact loading or unusual conditions of use.

6. Whenever the ladder has been exposed or is suspected of having been exposed to direct flame contact.

7. Whenever the heat sensor label has changed color, indicating heat exposure.

8. After any repairs have been completed, unless the only repair was replacing the halyard.

Because of how often they must be inspected/tested, as well as how many ladders many departments own, the cost of inspection each year may be very high. However, Ross Ladder Service strives to be as affordable as possible, while still providing proper inspections and testing of ladders.

If your department needs to schedule an inspection/testing appointment, or if you have other questions concerning ladder inspection and testing, please call us at (831)-206-0047, or email us at [email protected].
